Email Setup

Follow these steps to add a new email address or change an existing one for your new hosting service.

In this example, we are going to setup an email account in Outlook 2003 for a person named John Doe. His email address is jdoe@yourdomain.com. His company's website address is www.yourdomain.com. When you setup your account, use your information for your website instead of what you see here.

1. Open Outlook and click on the "Tools" menu as shown below:

Email Accounts

2. On the next screen, select "Add a new email account" to setup a new account or "View or change existing e-mail accounts" to change an existing account, then click next.

3. You may or may not get the following window. It doesn't always show up in Outlook. If you don't get it, just skip to number 4. If you do get it, make sure the account you want to change is selected and click "Change".

4. Enter the required information in the fields. Your user name is your email address for this account (including the @yourdomain.com) and your Incoming and Outgoing servers are mail.yourdomain.com.

Once you are done entering the information, click on the "More Settings" button.

5. Click on the "Outgoing Server" tab and check the box marked "My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication". Once this box is checked, the round radio button marked "Use same settings as my incoming mail server" should be automatically selected.

Click on "Ok" on this window, then "Next" on the window in line #4 above, then "Finish" on the window in #3. You should close Outlook (not always necessary), wait a few seconds then open it again.

Your email should be working now.
